Meaningful Use Message Analyst

OSDH is seeking a full-time Meaningful Use Message Analyst providing support to the Informatics division. This is an unclassified position in state government, located in Oklahoma City, OK. OSDH offers a comprehensive Benefits Package , including a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents . The purpose of this position is to provide Informatics support to the OSDH Meaningful Use program through the analysis of complex Meaningful Use messages; immunization, reportable laboratory, cancer, and specialized registry data.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions
• Analyzing and interpreting errors in HL7 messages, and retrieving data content to quality assure submissions.
• Consulting with providers, hospitals, and vendors regarding HL7 message submissions and their public health requirements, ensuring they understand the necessary requirements.
• Recording and tracking all communications so they can easily be retrieved by OSDH staff.
• Working with Public Health Information Network Messaging System for the adaptation of creating and storing electronic laboratory data.
Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree and 3 years working experience in Public Health or Healthcare Administration.
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Health Science, Mathematics, Statistics or closely related field is preferred.

This position is set in an office environment. While performing the duties of the job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach.
