Job Description

OSDH is seeking a part-time Housekeeping/Custodial Worker providing support to the McCurtain County Health Department. This is a state employee position PIN 34003361 governed by the Civil Service Rules , in state government.

Position Summary:

Position is assigned responsibilities related to routine work involving sweeping, mopping, dusting, disposal of trash and other simple cleaning duties; may include other duties as related to construction, maintenance, repair or upkeep of buildings, grounds or other state property, requiring no license.

Position Responsibilities /Essential Functions:

• Sweeps, dusts, mops, scrubs, washes, vacuums, waxes, and polishes building floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, equipment, and hardware.
• Cleans and sanitizes laboratories, washrooms, keeps washrooms supplied with paper, towels, and soap.
• Collects and disposes of trash and garbage; moves equipment and furniture such as tables, and chairs.
• Replaces and removes medically contaminated sharps containers and trash.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of none.

Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required at this level include ability required to follow oral and written instructions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in a climate controlled settings. Some work may be outdoors in all weather conditions. While performing the duties of the job, employee is frequently required to walk, stoop, crouch, crawl, and stand for long periods of time. May require occasional lifting of heavy packages and materials.
